Quick Post: Move In Weekend and Internet Problems

We moved into our new place! Here are a few quick photos, obviously a lot still needs to be done, but it's a start (: Also, we will not be able to get our internet set up until the end of this month, so I won't be able to post for a little while. Don't forget about me!

How to Have a Great 21st Birthday

Hey guys! So as you know I just celebrated my 21st birthday! I had a great night, but I have heard plenty of 21st birthday horror stories. Obviously 21st birthdays, in the United States anyway, often focus on drinking because you are finally at legal drinking age. Here are a few things that helped me have a good night, and a few tips stepping from friends' bad nights. Here's how to make your birthday a success, not a hot mess.

1. IT'S YOUR CHOICE TO DRINK OR NOT TO DRINK
This is tip number one because it's the most important thing I wanted to address. Whether or not you've ever drank any alcohol before, it is your choice if you want to drink on your 21st! People will always pressure you into drinking because let's be honest turning 21 is popularly and publicly about "getting drunk". You have the right to turn down any or all drinks offered to you!

2. DON'T GET TRASHED AT DINNER
When you're planning on drinking, it's important to have some food in your stomach. Drinking on an empty stomach is bad, bad, bad. Trust me. You get more drunk off of your "normal" drinking amount and in my opinion, the hangover is worse. I went to my friend's 21st birthday in January, and one of her friends was already so drunk that he had to leave and go home before they even got to the bars! Knowing this I just ordered one drink with dinner, and ate a good meal to prepare for the night.

3. START SLOW AND DRINK STRATEGICALLY
If you know you will be out until bar close, don't take ten shots in the first hour you are out! If you feel like you are drinking too much too fast split it up with regular soda in between. No one will know you are drinking soda instead of alcohol except for your bartender! Don't be afraid to ask for water, if you are sitting down at a table in a bar you may have to ask for water more than once. Waitresses seem to forget the water and only bring the drinks.

4. GO HOME WHEN YOU WANT TO GO HOME
Have a game plan set before you even start your birthday. Make sure you know exactly where you will be staying that night, who you will be staying with, and who will be sober driving (if you aren't planning to taxi or walk). When you have a plan ahead of time you can be in control and call the shots (not meant to be a drinking pun, haha!). Don't be afraid to go home early. Even if your friends are pressuring you to stay out until bar close only you will know if you can stay awake and stay out late. When you start to feel like you need to lie down, head home!

5. TURNING 21 ISN'T ABOUT THROWING UP OR BLACKING OUT
This one isn't really a tip, but I just wanted to throw this out there. I know when I would tell people my 21st was coming up they would all say things like "Oh you're going to black out" or "you'll be puking for sure". It gets so bad that it almost seems as though throwing up or blacking out are like rights of passage or something. They are not! All of the people I know who did either of these things on their 21st's told me it would have been a better night if only they hadn't done that. Of course there will be parts of the night you can't remember, but don't try to pass out in the middle of town!

It's your 21st birthday, you will probably get drunk, you probably won't remember parts of the night, but you will have a blast!!

The Last Ten Days (part two)

I left off right after our first weekend in the cities and fishing back in Winona. We drove up to the twin cities again last weekend to celebrate John's sister's graduation, his 21st birthday, and my 21st birthday. The drive up seemed way longer this time, since we'd already made it twice! It was a three hour drive total with a few stops for gas and food. We spent Wednesday night at my parents house in Elk River, it was a pretty lazy night, we just caught a new episode of Criminal Minds (another guilty pleasure of mine!) and read some library books before bed.

Thursday we went to John's sisters graduation. She graduated from the University of Minnesota so it was a pretty big (and long!) ceremony. It was interesting and inspiring to see other young people graduating. It reminded me of what I'm striving for right now, it's easy to get caught up in current classes, people, events, etc and forget about what the final outcome of all this school is. She doesn't have a job lined up already, but already has a few interviews coming up! I'm excited for my graduation, and the career I have ahead of me after that. I probably won't be there for another two or three years, but it's good to see that it can be done! We also got to spend a little bit of extra time with John's family. We've only been dating six months now so I am still trying to get to know everyone. I've finally started to feel like I'm becoming a little bit more of a part of his family each time we can go visit though!

Friday was John's 21st birthday! We went out with his family to a super fancy steakhouse in Minneapolis called Murray's to celebrate his birthday and his sister's graduation. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking to celebrate something big! The food was amazing! It's pretty pricey though so I'm not sure If I'll be able to afford to go there again, but oh my gosh yum! John went to a few bars to celebrate turning 21 with his family, but since I wasn't 21 (until sunday) I couldn't go with him. He had a great time with his sister's and their boyfriends though! I went home to Elk River again for the night to see my family for a bit and figure out mores stuff about moving my furniture 148 miles down to Winona. A very frustrating process by the way!

Saturday was another pretty lazy day. We went around to a couple art a whirl events around north east Minneapolis. We got to ride bikes around, which is something we can't do in Winona because we don't have our own bikes yet, so that was very very nice! Biking in nice weather is something both John and I enjoy, we are hoping to get some of our own bikes after move in. On Sunday (my birthday finally!) I spent the day with a couple girl friends from high school walking around town catching up and then getting ready for my party! We went out to Chino Latinos with a big group and it was amazing! This is another Minneapolis restaurant I strongly recommend, less expensive than Murray's too! A smaller group of us went out to a couple bars around dinky town to celebrate afterwards. I'll be making another separate post about my birthday too so stay tuned for that!

Hopefully these last two posts have caught everyone up on my crazy busy life!

The Last Ten Days (part one)

Hey! I haven't been able to post in a while because my life has been crazy busy! After finals were over and I was all moved into John's room, we took a trip to the twin cities for the weekend to see a concert and hang out with some friends. We came back to Winona for a few days and then went up to the cities again to celebrate John's 21st birthday, his sister's graduation, and my 21st birthday all rolled into one weekend!

On our first drive up to Minneapolis we made a few pit stops along the way in Red Wing and by Lake Pepin to explore and take some pictures. We are so used to just zooming through these places to get back to our home towns quick, it was so nice to take it slow and look around. If you live in Minnesota and have never been through Red Wing, Lake Pepin, or Winona I definitely recommend visiting or driving through. The bluffs and river are beautiful, I feel like I'm on a mini vacation every time I take the time to actually look around instead of getting stuck focusing on all the stressful things going on right now.

When we got to the city we spent some times with friends and went to a
Metz concert at the whole. It's a small venue in the University of Minnesota student center, it was cool to see a band that close up. Every concert I've been to before has been in a bigger venue like Excel Center or Target Center. Metz is a band that John really likes, but I had not really heard of them before. They were good and played a fun show! Being in that small of a venue made me super excited for June when I get to see Fall Out Boy (my guilty pleasure, one of my favorites from high school playing a reunion tour!) at Myth, another fairly small venue. Seeing them at the bigger arenas was good, but being that close to them will be amazing!

We came back to Winona for a few days, we are both in between jobs so we need to stay around Winona as much as possible in case of more interviews, hiring, orientations, etc. It wasn't the best to come back (a three hour drive one way!) to only be in town for three days, but John got some really exciting news! He has an interview with Plasticomp a big company in his field, composite materials engineering. The interview will be on Wednesday this week, it's an amazing opportunity for him because he would be getting his foot in the door, gaining experience in his major, and making a lot more than $7.50 and hour! I'll be sure to let you guys know how that goes! We also had some down time to go to the beach and go fishing, I caught my first fish ever! Being a Minnesotan you'd think I'd have been fishing my whole life but this was the second time I've been out and the first time I caught my own fish! We threw it back in of course (:

Part two will include John's sister's graduation, John's 21st, my 21st, and more about the last weekend!

Moving into John's room

I posted about my crazy living situation here. Here's a little update on how things are going. After moving out of the dorm, I moved into John's current house. We're still trying to get all the little stuff organized, but for the most part I am all moved in! When we had all the boxes and furniture piled into his room at first I was pretty doubtful that we would get it all to fit in a liveable way, but I think we did it!
It's still pretty "college boy" looking for a bedroom, but it's nice to be able to hang out in here and have a little place of my own in the house. I also love that we kept the keurig in here instead of downstairs in the kitchen! It's the best thing in the world to hop right out of bed and make coffee. I have so much art supplies and papers that we ended up having to build upwards with all of it so the corner of the room looks a little weird with the shelf and everything piled up on top of it! but it will work for the next three weeks (:
We're still working on tidying it up a little bit more, but we're so busy this month that I'm not sure if everything will get unpacked. The best thing about the room is that you can go out the widow by the bed and get onto the roof. It's so nice to lay out in the sun up there, you feel so close to the sidewalk and busy street but no one ever looks up at you. Overall it's a nice little temporary room, I cannot wait to be able to bring everything into the new place and decorate!

I'll be posting about our busy weekend trip up to the cities soon (: stay tuned for that!

Quick Post: Goodbye Dorm!

I posted about my current living situation here, I finally finished moving all of my junk out of my tiny single dorm! It looks so empty and plain now that it doesn't even feel like the same room I lived in all room. I am so so so happy to finally be done with dorming. (hopefully!) Cleaning and moving took forever to finish but I'm excited to show you what we did to John's room to make it livable for us during the next three weeks (:

The one thing I will miss about my dorm is the amazing view I had from my window. It looks out into the back yard of the building to a quite little band of trees with a stream flowing by. It looked especially pretty in the fall when all the leaves would rain down from the trees when the wind blew. An amazing view for sure, one of the perks to going to college in a small Minnesota town. Even though I'll miss seeing this little slice of nature out my window everyday I'm excited to see the new views from my apartment windows in June! (:

My Recipes: Baked Rigatoni

Hey guys! I had the day off today and John was done with his finals at three so we decided to make a quick comfort food meal and I wanted to share the recipe with you! Now that I'm thinking about it I wish I would have taken pictures during the process to show you guys the steps (another beginner blogger lesson learned), but it's a pretty simple recipe so you'll easily get the same results w/out step by step pictures! Next time I'm going to have to have a little photo shoot throughout the cooking process.

BAKED RIGATONI
Prep time: 10 min. Cook time 40 min. Total 50 min.
Ingredients:
  • 16 oz rigatoni pasta
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup onion red or white chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 48 oz jar of spaghetti sauce
  • six "deli slices" of provolone cheese, we used the cheese that's pre-sliced in the package.
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
    •  Note:When my mom makes baked pasta dishes like this she uses cottage cheese, I don't like the texture of cottage cheese at all so I always use ricotta. You can use whichever one you like/is cheapest/etc.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of pepper
  • optional: 2-3 tsp Italian seasoning
Tools:
  • cutting board, knife
  • bigger pot to boil pasta
  • skillet/pan to cook beef and sauce, spatula or spoon
  • baking pan (like a cake pan) to bake the pasta

Directions:

1. Boil water with a little bit of salt in it,  add noodles boil for 7-8 minutes or until pasta is "Al-dente". strain from water and set aside.

2. Add olive oil to a skillet/pan, add in onions and garlic. Allow the onions to cook for a couple minutes until soft. (this part makes your whole house smell wonderful!)

3. Add ground beef to the pan, brown and add salt and pepper to taste. After beef is browned, drain out any fat if you have too (we use extra lean ground beef from a meat market in town and don't usually have any to drain out), then add spaghetti sauce. We only added about 40 of the 48 oz container. Let simmer for 10-15 minutes.

4. Preheat your oven to 350F, Layer the ingredients like this:
-1/2 the rigatoni noodles
-1/2 the sauce mixture
-six sliced of provolone cheese (lay it out flat)
-1 cup ricotta cheese, smooth it out as best you can.
-1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese
-the other 1/2 noodles
-the other 1/2 of the sauce mixture
-1/2 cup mozzarella
-1 cup parmesan cheese
optional: sprinkle a little bit of the Italian seasoning mix on top

5. Bake for about 30 minutes or until the cheese on top is melted and slightly browned. Take it out, let it cool for 5 minutes, and your ready to eat!

I love making baked pasta because it's easy and baking the dish brings out more flavor! I don't usually like to make big quantities of food because I'm usually just making dinner for two, but I made a whole pan of this because I know it is good re-heated!

If you try it out let me know! (:

Current Living Situation Explained

So this post is more directed at people who know me in real life and want to get caught up on where I'm living these days, but it also explains a lot about my personal life for new readers! My living situation has gotten pretty complex over the last month or so, I wanted to clear it up in a post.

Right now, I'm sitting on a futon couch in my tiny tiny dorm room. You might be wondering, you're almost 21 and you live in a dorm room? Yes! I originally dormed during my freshman year of college (two years ago) at University of St. Thomas. Then I lived on my own in a small apartment for a few months, moved back home to my parents, and then lived in a town-house in my home town for a year.

During living in this town-house I made the huge decision to leave everything I knew and switch to a school three hours south in Winona, MN. This was such a huge change for me, it was terrifying, and new, and exciting. I could write an entire post about the process of changing my life completely by switching schools, and towns, and friends, and jobs, but I'll post that one later. (: Sticking to the topic of housing I realized I didn't know anyone in Winona so I would have to dorm again. I could have tried to find a house somewhere in town with random roommates, but dorming again didn't sound like the worst thing ever, and the work that's required in finding an off campus place to live was too much for me to think about with everything else I had to do to make the move.

my dorm room
I chose to live in a single dorm room on west campus. Winona State has two campuses, Main campus where almost all classes take place and everything you'd think of when you think of a university is, and then West campus about 7 minutes away. It's a smaller community with three housing buildings, a cafeteria, a gym and pool, and a few classrooms. I chose West campus because there was a housing building that was almost completely singles and although I absolutely love my freshman year roommate (we're still best friends) I didn't really want to room with someone this year. I'm so glad I ended up on West campus, I feel like I've made more connections and made more friends over here than I would have living on Main campus. I met my boyfriend because of the connections I made living on the west end of campus! There's a picture of the desk and wardrobe area in my tiny dorm room! It's a small space but it's perfectly livable.

the apartment
After I met John and we'd been dating for a while, we started to think about living together for the next school year. Originally the plan was that I would just move into the house that he is currently living in and we would both stay there for the next school year. Other roommates started talking about leaving, things started to fall through, we realized that this wasn't our best option. We started looking at one bedroom apartments and signed a lease on an apartment close to campus! Immediately after signing on I knew this was the place that we were meant to live!

The lease for this apartment didn't start until June 1st, and I had to be signed out of my dorm by May 10th. This caused a bit of a panic at first but we've got a plan. After Moving out of my dorm tomorrow (May 7th) I will move some of my things into John's room at his current house. I will live there with him for the rest of May, and then we will move into our apartment on June 1st.

John's current house
This temporary living situation makes me a little nervous, I'm the kind of person that likes to have all of her things together and in one place. Most of my stuff will be stored at my parents house until June, except for what I need to live for three weeks. I'm also nervous about trying to fit the things I need to live (clothes, makeup, work stuff, hair stuff, etc.) in John's room without making him feel overwhelmed. This is probably the strangest housing arrangement I have ever experienced, but I'm determined to make it work. It will all be worth it when we finally get into our new home! I will try to keep you all updated on how the next three weeks go, and of course I will be posting about the new apartment in June!

Quick Post: "Get Off My Internets"

While searching for a review of the Blog Love e-course by A Beautiful Mess, I stumbled across a forum website called "Get Off My Internets". This website is horrible, after reading only two or three of the forum post, that I accidentally came across btw, I was finding myself totally discouraged. These people posting horrible horrible things about some of my favorite bloggers made me think that no one would be interested in my blog and they would probably hate it too.

I am a stickler for "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all", I try my hardest to avoid talking badly about people, especially if I don't know them personally. This website just bugs me, it makes me feel horrible, and it makes me sad that people actually spend time bashing blog upon blog on these forums. I understand that no matter what kind of blogger you are there will always be people who are not fans of you, but I never knew there were whole communities dedicated to spreading hate about bloggers.

I wish I had never found this site!

Anyways, after calming myself down from the initial shock that this brought I realized that the type of people who are bashing blogs on these forums are not the type of people I want reading my blog. I bought the Blog Love e-course and am super excited to get started (: I'll make sure to write up a review on it when I finish the course.

How do you fight off negativity about your blog? Have you ever had people recklessly bash you as a blogger? How does a website like "Get Off My Internets" effect you?

Let me know, I'm interested to hear other bloggers opinions on this website.

How to Get Over New Job Jitters

Starting a new job can be exciting and infuriating all at the same time. Everyone feels nervous when they are the "new guy" at work, especially when it's a new type of job all together. I started a new job at Perkins a few weeks ago. I started training as a hostess, but after only one week they decided to move me to server training because they needed new servers ASAP. This was extremely intimidating to me at first, I had only served in a drive-in before and that was almost four years ago!

Leading up to my first day I was having anxiety attacks about what to expect, how much training I would receive, how the kitchen worked, and even little things like how to hold the trays correctly. I was especially nervous because when they hired me on as a hostess they only gave me one day of training and then I was on my own. The night before my first day of server training I came home and cried my eyes out to John. Embarrassing to admit, but I wanted people to know that if you come home crying from work out of frustration this is normal! Not the best situation, but it is normal to be nervous about starting a new position.

Today is my first day of serving my own section completely alone, I haven't had any panic attacks or tears leading up to today. I wanted to share a few tips on how I got over my new job jitters so hopefully you can too!

1. TALK TO MANAGERS FREQUENTLY
You need to be able to communicate your needs and worries to a manager. I know this sounds scary, admitting you are struggling to your manager seems like a sure way to get fired. (at least it did in my mind at first) Once I finally gathered the courage to tell my manager that I was afraid that they would only train me for a couple days then put me on my own (like they had done with hosting) he made sure that I would not be thrown into serving. I explained my worries and that although I had some server training it was a completely different industry (drive-in vs. sit down). It was super comforting to hear directly from him the specifics of how I would be trained, how many days of training I would get, and he even threw in a few tips to memorizing the menu!

2. ASK AS MANY QUESTIONS AS POSSIBLE
Don't feel like you will seem stupid or inexperienced if you ask questions during training. I probably asked about a thousand questions a day on my training days and I don't regret a single one. Every answered question made me feel even better about serving on my own.

3. IF YOU NEED HELP ASK FOR IT
On my last day of training I was given one table all to myself, and eventually two or three tables all to myself. Even though my training was almost over I still ran into situation when I needed help. Sometimes I wouldn't know which dressings went with dishes, or where things were in the kitchen. Don't be afraid to ask co-workers for help! I have never had a negative experience when asking someone for help with something. Usually people are eager to give assistance as long as they aren't too busy, it makes them feel accomplished and like an "expert" at their job.

4. TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND GO FOR IT
Sometimes I would feel myself getting nervous and jittery right before my shift, I would force myself to take a few deep breaths, calm myself down, and then just go in. You can't let fear keep you from doing something you need to do. There have already been situations where I want to just call and quit just because I was scared to try something new. Now that I'm starting to get the hang of it I'm so glad I didn't quit right away! Just breathe and remember that as long as you smile and let customers/co-workers know that you are new they are generally nice about your mistakes.

5. LOOK GOOD FEEL GOOD
This may seem like a small tip but getting ready and looking good for work will make you feel so much better. If you already have to worry about the new tasks you need to complete, you don't want the additional worry of "I look like such a scrub today" entering your mind. Also spending time to get ready before work lets you prepare your mind for work mode.

These are just the things I've learned so far about starting something new and scary. These tips relate to my job specifically, but can be used for most new jobs too! I'd love to know if you have any more tips and tricks for starting a new job, leave a comment and I'll add it to the list!

We Signed a Lease!

Last week, John and I signed a lease on our first apartment! Both of us have rented with roommates
before, but this will be the first time we live together and the first time we don't have other roommates to worry about. It's a tiny one bedroom apartment but it is perfect for us because we love the location (right between campus and downtown), we love that it's in an old historic building (one of the first apartment buildings ever build in Winona), and it has a roof top terrace that has the most amazing views of the bluffs, campus, downtown, and the river.

Back to the tiny factor, this place is itty bitty! It's not so tiny that it won't work, but creating space for all the functions we need out of this apartment will be a challenge. The bedroom and living room are both okay sizes for what we need but the kitchen is one of the smallest I've ever seen.

This is our floor plan, for some reason the oven isn't noted on here but it's across from the sink, next to the bedroom door, where there used to be a built in cabinet. I don't really know how I'll use this space successfully yet, but I've been having a blast looking at pinterest for ideas for small spaces!

Some of my favorite pins:

PULL OUT PANTRY
This is the most clever use of the awkward in-between-the-fridge-and-wall space I've ever seen! This pantry drawer is completely hand made, even though it looks store bought. It remains hidden most of the time, but can be pulled out to access the food (and the beautiful chevron print) inside. I'm thinking of all the patterns I could use for the backboard and my ideas go way beyond chevron. I was thinking of a map or newspaper print. I'm super excited to build this ( or watch John build this (: ) for my tiny kitchen. Here is the link to the tutorial by classyclutter on how to make this pull out pantry if you want to build your own.

 BATHROOM ORGANIZATION
A spice rack in the bathroom?! genius! I have so many hair and body products that when I put them in drawers I constantly find myself digging through the pile for my favorites. These specific spice racks are from Ikea, but if you're like me, the nearest Ikea is a bit of a drive away. You can also find cheap spice racks at Target, Walmart, and even the dollar store. Although, if you're buying from the dollar store test the strength of them before you buy, hair products weigh more than spice jars. You can find the complete tour of Rachel's bathroom here. She has a lot of great ideas on how to organize a small bathroom space.

ENTRY ORGANIZER FROM AN OLD DOOR
As you can see above, we have a very small entry way to work with. Right now we both struggle with rushing through the door and setting everything down in a pile somewhere in our rooms. I have a "chair" in my room that never gets sat in, just houses a pile of jackets, scarves, and other junk that I've carried in throughout the week. I wanted something in the entry that would help solve this problem and then I found this hall tree made from a door, it's simple, small, and efficient. I'm not sure if we'll use an old door or new wood, but this is another apartment project I'm super excited to build. You can find the tutorial here on the friendly home.

And if you want even more cool apartment ideas, here's the link to my entire "make a home" pin board.

Hello Devin!

ABOUT ME
I'm a 21 year old student artist living in Winona, Minnesota. I love books, crafts, painting, creating, and finding new places to explore! School, studying, and work take up most of my time but I find room to squeeze in little adventures. I enjoy creating art, cooking, baking, decorating, and visiting small shops. I like biking, walking, summer, shopping big on a small budget, and organizing. I believe that everything happens for a reason.

MY MISSION
Lately, I have realized that it's about time to start being a little more of an adult. The transition from teenager to young adult is interesting, confusing, perplexing. I'm currently trying to create a life for myself. I want to lead a life of purpose and happiness, this blog is a little journal about the stepping stones along the way.

Have you ever had those moments where you get lost daydream about all the things you want to be one day? Then life gets in the way and you never take the steps toward becoming any of these things? I feel like I've been doing this my whole life; it's time for a change. My move to Winona has been a huge push towards making these dreams a reality!

WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO ME
A few months after I got here I met John, we've been dating for six months now, I feel like he is the
person I was always meant to be with. Before coming to Winona I had just gotten out of a six year relationship with my high school boyfriend. I thought I would never find love again. Turns out what I felt for my ex wasn't love at all, just attachment. I love John, it was almost one of those love at first sight moments. Although I was too scared to tell him I knew I loved him a little after a month of meeting him. This is what love is supposed to feel like. Crazy, stupid, perfect, amazing, the best feeling in the world.

I also try to surround myself with my friends, my family is far away and we don't get to see each other much so I've built my own family of friends. Caitlin, Anne, Jessica, and Rachel are the most important people in my life. We don't need to see each other for months at a time, and when we do finally meet up again it's like no time has passed at all. Those are the best kind of friendships.

WHY I STARTED THIS BLOG
Life was getting the best of me, I was getting too caught up in work and school to enjoy the little things in life. I became inspired by other bloggers, doing amazing things and sharing with the world. I love writing and snapping pictures, I figured having them in one place would be great. I'd been thinking about this for awhile and always came to the conclusion: "Who would even want to read my posts?" But then I realized that writing is very therapeutic for me, even if not a single soul saw these posts writing was helping me get a hold on my crazy life.

The moment that I decided "Okay, I have to do it." was when John and I signed a lease on our first apartment. It's a tiny one bedroom in the oldest apartment building in Winona, but it is our home. I knew I wanted to document everything that is happening in our life as a couple. Friends and family also kept asking for pictures of the place, details, what floor we we're on, how we we're doing; I figured this would be a good way for them to see for themselves what we're up to.

I don't know exactly what will come of this blog, only from this moment on I am writing for myself. I don't need to write what people want to read, I don't need to put on a show. This is me and this is my life take it or leave it.
